To the lighthouse of dreams

16 Feb - 16 Jun 2024 - Exhibition at Open Space 2024, het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam

In this work, I attempted to show the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on our dreams. Using Artificial Intelligence I generated paintings based on a collection of dream reports and exhibited them in a semi-interactive installation, providing a perspective on our sub-conscious thoughts and fears during an isolating period.

29th of March 2024 - Installation for Moving Closer, at Roodkapje in Rotterdam

An audio-reactive installation built for the dance event Moving Closer, where we projected onto half-translucent fabric from two angles. The visuals were based on microscopic imagery of urban samples from Berlin and ferrofluids.

2nd of March 2024 - Installation for Generator, organised by Anechoic Station Berlin and Backside Radio

For the unique opportunity of hosting a dance-event in a nuclear warhead depot from the cold war, I collaborated on the visual installation and lighting. The system controlled DMX lights and projectors in the stage area and projected ambient visuals in a separate zone.

The 4th of March and 30th of June 2023 - Installation for Moving Closer, at de Sering in Amsterdam

For two editions of the dance-event moving closer I programmed a visual installation responding to the audio from the DJ-set. In this project, I further developped my skills in TouchDesigner.

2022 - Concept-installation by Tim Mooren and Luc Weytingh

In collaboration with Tim I worked on a Computer Vision controlled instrument. The underlying algorithm detects a visitor‘s hands using the camera and uses custom-made controls to send input to an Ableton Project. The result is an installation that prompts visitors to create music with their hands in an intuitive manner.

2022 - AI Programming for Cor Langerak

For Cor Langerak I worked on generating theater scripts using OpenAI‘s GTP-3. For each performance, a new script was generated from scratch, and interpreted for the first time by the actors.

2021 - Built for Dries Verhoeven

For Dries Verhoeven I built a "micro monitoring system" for his exhibition about the future of working. The system represents a future wherein employees work as robots, being instructed directly with short intervals.
